Digital Media aims to use the web to reach existing and
potential fans of BBC content across the globe. It achieves this
through a combination of BBC-branded sites and partnerships with
major players in the internet, mobile and video-on-demand (VOD)
sectors.
Digital Media is investing in new business areas and there are
three core components of its strategy which are:
- First: investment in BBC.com, a showcase of BBC content which
currently reaches 51 million unique users every month.
- Second: growing our reach - a partnering strategy with major
players embracing web, VoD and mobile platforms, for example the
global partnership with YouTube and our deals with iTunes stores in
UK, US, France and Germany
- Third: maximising the potential of our four passion sites, Radio
Times.com, Top Gear.com, Gardeners'
World.com and BBC Good Food.com
